1. Overview

StudyAstra is a free study-timer and learning companion for JEE, NEET and UPSC aspirants. We are local-first by design: the core of your study data never leaves your device unless you choose to sign in. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have.

2. Information we collect on your device

When you use StudyAstra without an account, the following is stored locally in your browser's storage and is never uploaded to a server:

You can delete all of this at any time by clearing site data for StudyAstra in your browser settings.

3. Information we collect when you sign in

If you create an account or sign in, we store a minimum of account data (such as your authentication identifier and nickname) and your leaderboard entries in our Supabase database so your progress can sync and appear on the live leaderboard. We do not ask for, and do not store, sensitive personal documents or payment information.

4. Cookies & analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics and standard cookies to understand usage and improve the product. You can clear cookies at any time from your browser settings.

5. Affiliate links

StudyAstra participates in the Amazon Associates Programme and other affiliate advertising programmes (including Flipkart). When you click a product link or "Buy Now" button on our Resources page, a cookie may be placed on your browser by the retailer. If you make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow". We do not receive or store your payment information; transactions are handled entirely by the retailer.

6. Support & UPI contributions

If you choose to support StudyAstra through the in-app contribution option, payment is processed by your UPI app and the retailer/bank — we do not collect or store your UPI ID, card details, or banking information.

7. Children's privacy

StudyAstra is intended for students preparing for competitive exams and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent.

8. Data security

Local data is protected by your own browser. Account data stored in Supabase is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we follow reasonable measures to protect it.

9. Your rights & data deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated cloud data by contacting the team from within the app or by email. Locally stored data can be cleared by clearing site data in your browser.

10. Contact

For any privacy request, reach us at contact@studyastra.com or through the support option in the StudyAstra app.
